Cepodem XP 325 Composition :-


This tablet contains a combination of two drugs.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP
equivalent to Cefpodoxime ……………… 200 mg

Clavulanate Potassium diluted IP
equivalent to Clavulanic Acid …………… 125 mg

Cefpodoxime proxetil is a cephalosporin class antibiotic. 
Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor.


Cepodem XP 325 Uses :-


Cepodem XP 325 is an antibiotic medicine.
It is used for various types of bacterial infections is used to treat.
Such as,
Respiratory tract infections,
Pharyngitis/tonsillitis (infection of the throat),
Ear infections,
Urinary tract infection,
Skin structure & skin infections caused by staphylococcus aureus or streptococcus pyogenes,
Urethral and cervical gonorrhea,
Ano-rectal infections in women due to neisseria gonorrhoeae,
Infections of the sinuses, lungs, airways or trachea.


Cepodem XP 325 Dosage :-


This antibiotic medicine should be taken as directed by physician.

This antibiotic medicine should be taken with food and it should be taken with sufficient amount of water. 
This antibiotic tablet should be swallowed whole without chewing. Consuming this antibiotic drug during meals increases its bioavailability. 
It should always be taken at regular intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and complete the course of treatment even if you do not feel down.

Always try to take this antibiotic medicine at fixed time, and complete the course of antibiotic medicine.

Some Precautions :-


• If you are allergic to penicillins or other cephalosporin antibiotics, before taking this antibiotic, tell your doctor that you are allergic to this antibiotic medicine.

• Certain antacids, such as sodium bicarbonate, aluminum hydroxide, or H2 blockers, can lower the level or effect of this medicine.

• During pregnancy, this antibiotic medicine should be used only when absolutely necessary. It is not established by doctors and researchers whether or not this medicine is safe to take during pregnancy as there are not enough studies in pregnant women. About using this medicine.

• This antibiotic medicine is excreted in human milk. This medicine enters the breast milk and may have undesirable effects on the lactating baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. Women have to decide whether to stop breastfeeding or discontinue the drug.

• Dizziness may occur while taking this antibiotic medicine and this may affect the ability to drive and use machines.

• This antibiotic medicine only treats bacterial infections. Not useful for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).

• Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, problems with urination, a stomach or intestinal disorder such as colitis, or are allergic to any form of penicillin.
