Budamate 200 Transhaler is prescribed for the treatment of people suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.

Budamate 200 Transhaler Uses :-


Budamate 200 Transhaler is used to control and prevent the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

To prevent symptoms like chest tightness, wheezing and shortness of breath, etc.


Budamate 200 Transhaler Composition :-



Formoterol ............................................... 6mcg
( as formoterol fumarate dihydrate )

Budesonide ............................................. 200mcg

Formoterol belongs to the class of medicines called long-acting beta2-agonists.
Budesonide is a corticosteroid medicine.
 

Budamate 200 Transhaler Dosage :-



• Your doctor will tell you how often you need to use the transhaler. 

• The dosage of this  transhaler depends on the response to the treatment and the medical condition.

• Use the  transhaler exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to use it.

• Usually take 1 breath of the  transhaler, and use it 2 times a day. Do not use this  transhaler more often than prescribed, and at the same time every day, at intervals of about 12 hours.

• Anytime before using the  transhaler for the first time, you should remove the cap of the  transhaler from the mouthpiece and shake the  transhaler well for five seconds and spray the  transhaler into the air away from your body.
Repeat this process one more time. So that if you use this  transhaler, then you can get the right amount of medicine.

• If you haven't used it for more than 4 weeks, you should shake your  transhaler well for five seconds and spray the  transhaler twice into the air away from your face.

• Shake the  transhaler well for 5 seconds before using each time. Remove the cap from the mouthpiece, holding the  transhaler down from your mouthpiece. And exhale through the mouth and expel as much air from your lungs as possible, put the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips around it.

• Push the top of the metal container of the  transhaler down as you breathe deeply and slowly through your mouth.

• Hold your breath for as long as is comfortable, for about 10 seconds. Breathe slowly for as long as possible.

• Repeat one more time to take another breath.

• Rinse your mouth with water after breathing through the  transhaler. Do not swallow the water and spit out the water.

• Put the cap back on the mouthpiece on the  transhaler after each use. Make sure that snaps firmly into place.

• Clean your  transhaler at least once a week with a clean dry cloth after the evening dose.

• When the counter reads 00, throw away the  transhaler.

• If you forget to take a dose of the  transhaler, skip the missed dose, and take the next dose of the  transhaler at the usual time. Do not take 2 doses at once.



Budamate 200 Transhaler Sideeffects :-


Like all medicines, this medicine can have side effects, although it does not affect everyone.

• Swelling of the face, around the mouth (throat and/or tongue and/or difficulty swallowing) or hives with difficulty breathing and/or a sudden feeling of fainting. So you're having an allergic reaction. If you experience any of these side effects, it is rare, affecting less than 1 in 1,000 people. Then stop using the  transhaler and contact your doctor immediately.

• If you experience sudden severe wheezing or shortness of breath immediately after using the  transhaler, you should stop using the  transhaler and use a 'reliever'  transhaler. Because you may need to change your treatment. However, this is very rare, affecting at least 1 in 10,000 people.

• Palpitations or tremors, these effects are usually mild and disappear when you continue to use the  transhaler.

Thrush (a fungal infection) in the mouth. The chances of this side effect are reduced if you rinse your mouth with water after using the  transhaler.

Mild sore throat and cough, head ache. Pneumonia (lung infection) in COPD patients.

If any of these effects occur while you are taking the  transhaler, Fever or chills. Change in color of mucus, increase in mucus production. Coughing or increased difficulty in breathing. So tell your doctor that these could be symptoms of a lung infection.

These are possible side effects that may affect 1 in 10 people.

• Feeling restless or nervous. sleep problem. Dizziness or blurred vision. to feel sick. Heart beating fast muscle cramps. Skin eruptions. These are uncommon, affecting 1 in 100 people.


• Low level of potassium in the blood. Heartbeat is uneven. rash or itching. Constriction of muscles in the airways that causes wheezing. If there is sudden wheezing after using the  transhaler then stop using this  transhaler and talk to your doctor. are rare, affecting 1 in 1000 people.

Budamate 200 Transhaler contains formoterol & budesonide.

Budesonide is a corticosteroid. Budesonide ICS helps to reduce inflammation in the lungs, and at the same time it makes it easier to breathe.

Formoterol fumarate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), helps to open the airways by relaxing the smooth muscles around the airways in the lungs.

Precautions :-


Budamate 200 Transhaler is not useful in reducing sudden breathing problems.

• It is a controller medication, so you may notice an improvement in your breathing over time if you take it, but you should continue to take this medication.

• Before using it, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, or any medicines you are taking for it. Because some patients taking this  transhaler may experience changes in blood pressure, heart rate, or heart rhythm.

• Do not puff/spray this  transhaler more often than prescribed daily.

• While using this  transhaler, do not use any other medicine containing a LABA (long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist) for any reason.

• Women who are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, check with their doctor before using the  transhaler and do not use this  transhaler unless the doctor tells you to do so.

• If a woman becomes pregnant while using the  transhaler, do not stop using the  transhaler but contact your doctor.

• Breastfeeding women, consult your doctor before using this  transhaler.


• Before using the  transhaler, tell your doctor if:

you are diabetic,

If you have severe liver problems,

if you have a lung infection,

If you have high blood pressure or heart problems (such as narrowing of the arteries, heart failure,

An uneven heartbeat or a very fast pulse),

If you have problems with your thyroid or adrenal glands & Low levels of potassium in your blood,

You have blurred vision or other visual disturbances.

• Before using the  transhaler, tell your doctor if you are already taking other medicines such as,

Beta-blocker (such as atenolol or propranolol ),

Medicines for uneven or fast heartbeats (such as quinidine),

Medicines to treat heart failure (such as digoxin),

Diuretic drugs (such as furosemide),

Steroid medicine (such as prednisolone),

Asthma medicine (such as theophylline or aminophylline),

Bronchodilator drugs (such as salbutamol),

Eyedrops for glaucoma (such as timolol),

Anti-depressant medicines (such as amitriptyline),

Medicines for Parkinson's disease (such as leva-dopa),

Phenothiazine medications (such as prochlorperazine and chlorpromazine),
