Glucowise M tablet is prescribed to control high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus for adult patients above 18 years of age.
Glucowise M Tablet Composition :-
Glucowise M tablet combination of two oral antidiabetic drugs :
Teneligliptin .................................. 20mg
Metformin Hydrochloride ......... 500mg
( Sustained Extended release form )
Teneligliptin is an dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitors class antidiabetic drugs.
Metformin hydrochloride is an antidiabetic medicine belonging to a class of drugs called biguanide.
Glucowise M Tablet Uses :-
Glucowise M tablet is an antidiabetic drugs, used to control type 2 diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar levels) in adult patients above 18 years of age.
When diet, exercise, single combination drug are not effective in controlling blood glucose levels, then combination drugs are used.
When Glucowise M tablet is used along with a healthy diet and exercise, it helps a lot in controlling blood sugar.
Glucowise M Tablet Dosage :-
Glucowise M tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Glucowise M tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Glucowise M tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor.
Glucowise M tablet should be taken immediately before or with a meal. Never self-medicate or change the dosage without a doctor's advice.
Do not take 2 or more doses at the same time.
Always try to take Glucowise M tablet on regular schedule. Always take the tablet even if you feel well or your blood sugar level is under control. Do not stop taking without your doctor's advice. Otherwise, your blood sugar level may rise again. Do not stop taking Glucowise M tablet without asking your doctor. Because the treatment of diabetes is lifelong.
How Does Glucowise M tablet Work :-
Glucowise M tablet combination of two antidiabetic drugs : Teneligliptin & Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets.
When single combination drugs are ineffective in controlling blood glucose levels, than combination drugs are used.
These combination drugs then help to work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar.
Teneligliptin :
Teneligliptin is an dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitors class antidiabetic drugs. Teneligliptin works by increasing the amount of insulin produced by pancreas. Teneligliptin works by decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels in the pancreas. Teneligliptin lowers your blood sugar level, and controls the amount of glucose in the blood.
Metformin Hydrochloride :
Metformin hydrochloride is an antidiabetic drugs belonging to a class of drugs called biguanide. Metformin delays the absorption of glucose from the intestines, by reducing the production of glucose in the liver. And thus metformin works by increasing the sensitivity of the body to insulin.
Thus Glucowise M tablet works by controlling the level of sugar in the blood.
Glucowise M Tablet Sideeffects :-
Like all medicines, Glucowise M tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like :
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia),
Constipation,
Dizziness,
Headache,
Diarrhea,
Fever and many other side effects can occur.

Kidney : Caution
Glucowise M tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Because there may be a need to change its dosage. However, patients with severe kidney disease are advised not to use Glucowise M tablet. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised while you are taking the Glucowise M tablet.
Liver : Caution
Glucowise M tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Because there may be a need to change its dosage. Patients with liver disease are generally started on a low dose of Glucowise M tablet and the use of Glucowise M tablet is advised not to be used in patients with severe liver disease.
Alcohol : Unsafe
It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Glucowise M tablet. Therefore, do not consume alcohol after taking Glucowise M tablet.
