Nitrostar SR tablet is prescribed to treat urinary tract infections ( UTI ).

Nitrostar SR Tablet Uses :-
Nitrostar SR tablet is used to treat urinary tract infections.
Nitrostar SR tablet works by killing the bacteria that cause the urinary tract infections.
Nitrostar SR tablet may be prescribed for other uses. For more information consult your doctor.
Nitrostar SR Tablet Dosage :-
Nitrostar SR tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Nitrostar SR tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Nitrostar SR tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor.
Nitrostar SR tablet is usually taken for urinary tract infections twice a day for at least 7 days. Take it with a full glass of water and food.
You should start to feel better during your first few days of treatment with Nitrostar SR tablet. If symptoms do not improve or get worse, consult your doctor.
Keep taking Nitrostar SR tablet until you have completed treatment, even if you feel better. If you stop taking Nitrostar SR tablet too soon or skip doses, the infection may become more difficult to treat and the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then the missed dose should be skipped. And take the rest of the dose for that day at equal intervals. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Nitrostar SR tablet contains : Nitrofurantoin.

Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic drug. Nitrofurantoin works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection. Thus Nitrostar SR tablet works by to treat urinary tract infections.

Like all medicines, Nitrostar SR tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like :
Dark yellow or brown urine,
Nausea,
Vomit,
Loss of appetite,
Shortness of breath,
Excessive fatigue,
Fever or chills,
Pain in chest,
Coughing up,
Numbness or tingling,
Muscle weakness,
Swelling of the tongue or lips,
Skin rash,
Nitrostar SR Tablet may cause other side effects as well. If you experience any symptoms while taking Nitrostar SR Tablet.

Some Precaution :-
Before taking Nitrostar SR Tablet -
• If you are allergic to Nitrostar SR Tablet. So tell your doctor.
• Tell your doctor that you are taking certain medications such as antacids, antibiotics, benztropine, diphenhydramine, probenecid, and trihexyphenidyl.
• If you have anemia, lung disease, kidney disease, nerve damage, or glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency. So tell your doctor before taking Nitrostar SR Tablet.
• Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding women taking Nitrostar SR Tablet Tell your doctor before taking Nitrostar SR Tablet.
Pregnant women should not take Nitrostar SR Tablet in the last month.
• Talk to your doctor about the safe use of Nitrostar SR Tablet in older people or people over 65 years of age. Older adults in general should not take Nitrostar SR Tablet because it is not as safe as other medicines.
• Nitrostar SR Tablet can make you drowsy. Do not perform mental tasks or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.
• Ask your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking Nitrostar SR Tablet. Because alcohol can make the side effects of Nitrostar SR Tablet worse.
• Nitrostar SR Tablet can make your skin sensitive to sunlight. Avoid prolonged or unnecessary sun exposure.
• If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then the missed dose should be skipped. And take the rest of the dose for that day at equal intervals. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
