Monadine tablet is prescribed for the treatment of the symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose & watery eyes.
Monadine Tablet Composition :-
Monadine tablet combination of two drugs -
Montelukast Sodium ........................... 10mg
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride .............. 120mg
Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist.
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine.
Monadine Tablet Uses :-
Monadine tablet is treatment of the symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose & watery eyes.
Monadine tablet helps in controlling the symptoms associated with asthma.
Monadine tablet reduces swelling in the airways and makes breathing easier.
Monadine Tablet Dosage :-
Monadine tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
The dosage of Monadine tablet you will be prescribed will depend on your health condition.
Monadine tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water and can be taken with or without food.
Monadine tablet should not be crushed, broken or chewed.
You should keep on taking Monadine tablet for as long as your doctor advises you. If you stop treatment too early the symptoms may return and the condition may get worse. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking as some may or may be affected by Monadine tablet.
How Dose Monadine Tablet Work :-
Monadine tablet is a combination of two drugs: Montelukast & Fexofenadine.
Montelukast -
Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. Montelukast inhibits the chemical messenger leukotriene, which reduces swelling and inflammation in the nose. Montelukast reduces swelling in the airways and makes breathing easier.
Fexofenadine -
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine.
Fexofenadine blocks the action of another chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
Thus, Monadine tablet helps to reduce and relieve the symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, watery eyes due to allergies.
Monadine Tablet Sideeffects :-
Like all medicines, Monadine tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like -
Nausea,
Diarrhea,
Vomiting,
Skin rash,
Fever,
Headache,
Drowsiness,
Dizziness and there can be many other side effects as well as some side effects. Those that have not been mentioned. However, if you have any experience of any sideeffets and if they do not reduce then consult your doctor.
Precautions :-
• Monadine tablet may cause dizziness and sleepiness. While taking Monadine tablet do not drive or do any other work that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.
• Avoid or stop drinking alcohol while taking Monadine tablet as it can disturb your sleepiness.
• It is necessary to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney problems before you start taking Monadine tablet. You should also consulat your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• When consuming alcohol with Monadine tablet caution is advised to you. Please inform your doctor.
• Monadine tablet may be risky to use during pregnancy. Although there are some limited studies in humans and animal studies have shown some harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing this tablet to you. Please consult your doctor.
• Monadine tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited data in human suggests that Monadine tablet does not represent any significant risk to the baby inside you.
• Monadine tablet may decrease your alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if you notice this symptoms occuring.
• Before taking Monadine tablet you should consult or inform you doctor if you have any kidney disease . It should be used with caution for kidney disease patient. Dose adjustment of Monadine tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with last stage kidney disease.
• Monadine tablet is safe in all probability to use in patients with liver diseases. Some available Limited data suggests that dose adjustment of Monadine tablet may not be needed in liver or kidney patients. Please inform or consult your doctor before taking Monadine tablet.
