• What is Lemborexant used for?

Lemborexant is used for adults of age 18 years or older who have trouble falling or staying  asleep Insomnia.

Dosage forms & Strength :-

Lemborexant 5 mg. is for oral use.
Lemborexant 10 mg. is for oral use.

What is Lemborexant used for :-

Lemborexant is used for the treatment of adult patients with insomnia, specify by difficulties with sleep onset and/or sleep maintenance.
Lemborexant can be used alone or with other medications.

Lemborexant Dosage :-

Lemborexant should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Lemborexant are intended for oral administration.
The suggested dosage of Lemborexant is 5 mg taken or more than once per night, immediately before going to bed, with at least 7 hours remaining before the planned time of awakening. The dose can be increased to the maximum prescribed dose of 10 mg based on clinical response and tolerability.
Time to sleep onset can be delayed if taken with meal or soon after a meal. You should complete the full course of the treatment even if you feel well. It is main not to stop taking Lemborexant instantly as it can worsen your symptoms.

What are the side effects of Lemborexant?

The most ussual side effect of Lemborexant is sleepiness.
All these are not the possible side effects of Lemborexant. Consult your doctor for medical advice and if you have any new or worsening side effects.

Lemborexant Mechanism of Action :-

Lemborexant :
Lemborexant is that binds to orexin receptors, OX1R and OX2R and acts as a competitive antagonist. Lemborexant in the treatment of insomnia is suppose to be through antagonism of orexin receptors. The orexin neuropeptide signaling system plays a role in awareness. Obstructing the binding of wake-promoting neuropeptides orexin A and orexin B to receptors OX1R and OX2R is thought to suppress wake drive.
Thus, Lemborexant treat to Insomnia.

Precautions & Warnings :-

• It is unknown if Lemborexant is safe and effective in children.
• Before taking Lemborexant, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including if you :
have a history of depression,
mental illness, or suicidal thoughts,
drug or alcohol abuse or addiction,
Immediate onset of muscle weakness (cataplexy), develop moderate to severe proteinuria may need to reduce the dose. Treatment with axitinib should be discontinued if the patient develops nephrotic syndrome.
• Tell your doctor about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.
• Taking Lemborexant with particular other medicines can give rise to serious side effects. Lemborexant can affect the way other medicines work and other medicines can affect the way Lemborexant works.
Do not take Lemborexant with other medicines that can make you sleepy unless your healthcare team tells you to.
• Lemborexant can cause serious side effects, including : Temporary uncapacity to move or talk (sleep paralysis) for up to more minutes while you are going to sleep or waking up.
Temporary weakness in your legs that can take place during the day or at night.
Complex sleep behaviors like sleep-walking, sleep-driving, preparing and eating food, making phone calls, having sex or doing other activities while not fully awake that you can not remember the next morning.
Worsening depression and suicidal thoughts have happened while treatment with Lemborexant.
• Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Lemborexant. It can increase your chances of getting critical side effects.
• Avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, do anything dangerous, or other activities that needed clear thinking if you take Lemborexant and have had less than a full night of sleep (at least 7 hours) or if you have taken more Lemborexant than suggested by your healthcare team.
You can still feel drowsy the next day after taking Lemborexant. Do not drive or do other dangerous activities until you feel completely awake.
• Do not take Lemborexant if you fall asleep frequently at unexpected times (narcolepsy).
• Lemborexant can give rise to serious side effects including : Reduced awareness and alertness.
• The morning after you take Lemborexant, your capacity to drive safely and think clearly can be reduced. You can also have sleepiness during the day. Do not take more Lemborexant than suggested. Do not take Lemborexant unless you are able to stay in bed for a full night (at least 7 hours) before you must be active again. Take Lemborexant right before you go to bed.
