Moncid Cream
Moncid cream is a prescribed for the fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, diaper rash and other fungal skin infections.
Moncid Cream Composition :-
Moncid cream contains :
Clotrimazole ............................. 1 % w/w

Moncid Cream Uses :-
Moncid cream is an antifungal medicine.
Moncid cream is used for the treatment of fungal skin infections such as, athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm etc.
For the treatment of :
• Moncidal nappy rash, vulvitis and balanitis.
• Skin diseases exhibit secondary infection with these fungi.
• All dermatomycoses because of moulds and other fungi.
• Dermatomycoses because of yeasts (Moncida species). These involve ringworm (tinea) infections (e.g. athlete's foot), paronychia, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma and intertrigo.
Directions For Use :-
Moncid cream should be advised by your doctor.
Moncid cream for external use only.
Moncid cream should be applied thinly and firmly to the affected area 2 – 3 times regularly and rubbed in gently.
If the feet are infected, they must be compeletely washed and dried, mostly between the toes, before applying Moncid cream.
How Dose Moncid Cream Work :-
Moncid cream composition : Clotrimazole.
Clotrimazole :
Clotrimazole acts against fungi by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis. Inhibition of ergosterol synthesis cause structural and functional impairment of the cytoplasmic membrane. Thus, Moncid cream treat fungal skin infections.
Moncid Cream Sideeffects :-
Like all medicines, Moncid cream can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like -
• Allergic reaction (syncope, hypotension, dyspnoea, urticaria),
• Skin disorders are blisters, discomfort/pain, oedema, erythema, irritation, peeling/exfoliation, pruritus, rash, stinging or burning.
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.
Precautions :-
• Avoid the use of Moncid cream if you have allergy to clotrimazole.
• Moncid cream is meant for external use only. Apply the cream to the affected areas of the skin as ordered by your doctor.
Moncid Cream 50 gm must be used for skin only and accidentally if it gets into your eye, mouth or nose wash with water.
• Moncid cream must be applied to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab.
• Moncid cream should not be applied more than the suggested dose, to avoid side effects. TG
• Some ussual side effects of Moncid cream are burning, itching, redness, stinging and dryness on your skin in the place where Moncid cream ointment is applied. Sensitive allergic reaction (skin hypersensitivity reactions) such as rashes, itching, swelling, and hypotension can occur in rare cases. Please talk ti your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes critical.
• Treatment must be not stoped for at least one month for dermatophyte infections, or for at least two weeks for candidal infections.
• You should not use Moncid cream to treat nail or scalp infections.
• Pregnancy :
There is a restricted amount of data from the use of clotrimazole in pregnant women. Animal studies with clotrimazole have exhibit reproductive toxicity at high oral doses. At the low systemic exposures of clotrimazole following treatment, harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity are not forecast. Moncid cream can be used in pregnancy but only under the supervision of a physician or midwife.
• Lactation :
Available study data in animals have shown discharge of clotrimazole/metabolites in milk after intravenous administration. Risk to the suckling child cannot be eliminate. Decision should be made whether to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue/abstain from clotrimazole therapy taking into account the benefit of breast-feeding for the child and the benefit of therapy for the woman.
• Fertility :
No human studies of the effects of clotrimazole on fertility have been done, however, animal studies have not demonstrated any effects of the drug on fertility.
• Moncid cream has no or insignificant influence on the capacity to drive or use machines.
