This bilayer tablet contains a combination of two oral anti-hyperglycemic drugs.
Glimepiride .................................. 2 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride ......... 500 mg
( in prolonged release form )
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea and metformin is a biguanide, Both of these are antidiabetic drugs.
Mpride 2 Tablet Uses :-
To treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin dependent) in adults patients.
This combination medicine (glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride) is used to help control high blood sugar levels in adult patients (over 18 years of age).

Some Precautions :-
• Taking this tablet with other antidiabetic medicines, with alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level).
• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Metformin plus glimepiride combination medicine.
• If you have metabolic acidosis (too much acid in body fluids) such as lactic acidosis, diabetic pre-coma, or diabetic ketoacidosis.
• Before taking this tablet, tell your doctor that you,
Patients with kidney disease, liver failure, lung or heart failure, or have had a recent heart attack or stroke.
• If you take it with other antidiabetic medicines, or exercise more or with wine, medicine can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) if you delay or miss a meal. Therefore, one should always check the blood sugar level regularly. If you experience any symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), eat something sweet or drink fruit juice.
• Pregnant women or lactating women tell their doctor by taking this tablet.
• If you are taking prescription or, non-prescription medicine such as vitamins and herbal supplements. So tell your doctor about all these medicines.
• If you experience symptoms of hypoglycemic such as chills, sweating, pale skin, shivering and anxiety, you should eat something sweet or drink fruit juice.
