ZO 200 Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of Bacterial Infections.
1. ZO 200 Tablet Composition :-
ZO 200 Tablet contains :
Ofloxacin ..................... 200 mg
Ofloxacin is in a fluoroquinolones class of antibiotics.
2. Dosage forms & Strength :-
ZO 200 Tablet for oral administration only.
3. ZO 200 Tablet Uses :-
ZO 200 Tablet is an antibiotic use in the treatment of bacterial infections which effect your lungs, skin, and urinary tract (the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra).
ZO 200 Tablet works by stopping the growth of bacteria that give rise to infection.
ZO 200 Tablet is not effective against infections caused by viruses.
ZO 200 Tablet is it prescribed for?
• Urinary tract infection :
An infection in any part of your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) is known as a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some of the cases, viruses or fungi. ZO 200 Tablet is use in the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
• Pyelonephritis :
ZO 200 Tablet is use in the treatment of pyelonephritis which is the swelling of the kidneys beacouse of bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads from the ureters to the kidneys.
• Urethritis :
Urethritis is the swelling of the urethra, a small tube that take urine from the bladder. ZO 200 Tablet is use in the treatment of urethritis caused by bacteria.
• Cystitis :
ZO 200 Tablet is used in the treatnent of cystitis caused by bacteria. It is a swelling of your urinary bladder commonly caused by a bacterial infection. This is more ussual in women.
• Community-acquired pneumonia :
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) mentions to pneumonia (lung infection) that is acquired outside the hospital. CAP can be bacterial or viral. ZO 200 Tablet is used to treat CAP which is caused by bacteria.
• Bronchitis :
ZO 200 Tablet is used to treat bronchitis which is caused by bacteria. It is the inflammation and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs.
• Traveller's diarrhoea :
Traveller's diarrhoea is a stomach and intestinal infection that give rise to loose stools and stomach cramps. Drinking or eating infected water or food can lead to this condition. ZO 200 Tablet is used to treat diarrhoea caused while travelling.
• Skin and soft tissue infections :
Skin and soft tissue infections take place when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. ZO 200 Tablet is use in the treatment of all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.
• Gonorrhea :
Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) which is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It lay out during vaginal, oral or anal sex without using a condom or other barrier method. ZO 200 Tablet is use in the treatment of the gonococcal infection.
4. ZO 200 Tablet Dosage :-
ZO 200 Tablet is prescribed by your doctor.
ZO 200 Tablet can be taken with food or without food as recommended by your doctor.
The dose of ZO 200 tablet is determined on the type and severity of the bacterial infections.
Your doctor will suggest the dose of ZO 200 Tablet based on your condition.
Take ZO 200 Tablet at the same time daily for the ease of remembering.
Drink plenty of water along with ZO 200 Tablet to prevent stomach irritation.
Avoid crushing, breaking or chewing the ZO 200 Tablet.
ZO 200 Tablet is given for a small period of time. So, it is necessary to complete the full treatment for maximum benefits
Complete the full course of treatment for maximum benefit and to cure the risk of re-infection.
Finish the full course of antibiotics medicine.

5. ZO 200 Tablet Sideeffects :-
Like all medicines, ZO 200 Tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
• Nausea and vomiting,
• Dizziness,
• Diarrhoea,
• Stomach pain,
• Headache,
If you undergo any side-effects, inform to your doctor.
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.

6. How Dose ZO 200 Tablet Work :-
ZO 200 Tablet is an antibiotics medicine that consist of Ofloxacin.
Ofloxacin works by ending the action of a bacterial enzyme known as DNA-gyrase. This cured the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby harming them.
Thus, ZO 200 Tablet treat Bacterial Infections.

7. Precautions & Warnings :-
 Do not take ZO 200 Tablet if you are allergic to ofloxacin. If you have any allergic reaction like redness, swelling (anywhere in your body), hives (skin rash), difficulty in breathing etc. tell your doctor about these symptoms immediately.

• Do not do activities that need mental focus like driving and operating machines as ZO 200 Tablet can cause dizziness.

• Avoid taking ZO 200 Tablet if you have tendinitis (a condition that give rise to swelling of the tissues that attach bones with muscles) or myasthenia gravis (a condition that give rise to critical weakness of the muscles under voluntary control). 

• ZO 200 Tablet must be used with caution if you have any liver or kidney problems. Inform about all your medicines to your doctor as they can interact with ZO 200 Tablet and lead to side effects.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor before taking ZO 200 Tablet.

• Avoid consuming dairy products and drinking alcohol while taking ZO 200 Tablet as it reduces the effectiveness of ZO 200 Tablet.

• Inform your doctor if your condition is not getting better or getting worse after taking few doses of ZO 200 Tablet.

Tendinitis or tendon rupture :
ZO 200 Tablet can give rise to muscle damage mostly in old age. You must not use ZO 200 Tablet if you have tendonitis (swelling of fibres that attach bone with muscles) or tendon rupture. as it can worsen your condition.

Myasthenia gravis :
Myasthenia gravis is a skeletal muscle weakness condition characterized by critical weakness of any of the muscles under your voluntary control like arms and legs. ZO 200 Tablet should be stoped if you have myasthenia gravis as it can worsen your condition.

Pregnancy :
ZO 200 Tablet is not prescribed to be used in pregnancy as it can harm your foetus. Talk to your doctor before taking ZO 200 Tablet.

Breast-feeding :
ZO 200 tablet is not prescribed for use during lactation as ZO 200 tablet is excreted in human breast milk in small amounts. Therefore, breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with ZO 200 Tablet. Please consult your doctor before taking ZO 200 Tablet to know all the risks and benefits associated with ZO 200 Tablet.

General warnings -
• Muscle damage :
ZO 200 Tablet can give rise to muscle damage commonly on the tendons that surround your ankle. Tell your doctor if you feel pain, numbness, or tingling sensations in your muscles.

• Antibiotic resistance :
Complete your full course of treatment with ZO 200 Tablet, even if the condition gets better after taking a few doses to ignore antibiotic resistance (the bacteria cab become resistant to antibiotics). If you still don't feel well after completing your antibiotic course, talk to your doctor.

• Driving or operating machinery :
ZO 200 Tablet can give rise to dizziness or sleepiness and interfere with eyesight. So, do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine.

• Photosensitivity :
ZO 200 Tablet can make you more sensitive to sunlight or tanning lights. You should use sunscreens or wear protective clothing before stepping outside to avoid undesirable effects.

• Diarrhoea :
ZO 200 Tablet can give rise to diarrhoea because it can also harm the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Talk your doctor immediately if you undergo severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody.

• If you are taking some medicine such as magnesium/aluminum antacids, sucralfate, zinc or iron preparations, it can increase the time takes for ZO 200 Tablet to act on your body. So, it is suggested to take ZO 200 Tablet at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Instructions :
Interaction with alcohol is not known. It is suggested to have a talk with your doctor before consumption.

• ZO 200 Tablet interaction with other medicine such as Escitalopram, Ethinyl Estradiol, Corticosteroids, Quinidine and Aspirin.

Disease Interactions -
• Central nervous system disorders :
Take ZO 200 Tablet with caution if you have nerve problems, seizures, depression, and psychotic disorders as it may worsen these conditions. Tell your doctor immediately if these reactions take place.

• Colitis :
ZO 200 Tablet is used with very caution if you have gastrointestinal (stomach and intestines) diseases, specially colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), as it can worsen your condition.

• QT Prolongation :
ZO 200 Tablet can give rise to heart rhythm problems known as prolonged QT intervals (an electrical heartbeat disturbance) if you are taking heart medications. It can result in fast, rapid, and irregular heartbeats.

• Kidney diseases :
ZO 200 Tablet must be taken with very caution if you have kidney disease as a damaged kidney can lead to accumulation of this medicine and higher the risk of side effects. Your doctor can manage the dose of this medicine as required based on your condition.

• Food interactions :
Stop consuming multivitamins with minerals while taking ZO 200 Tablet. If required it is recommended to take this medicine before 2 to 4 hours or after 4 to 6 hours of taking multivitamins with minerals.
