Eflora Cream is used in the treatment of hirsutism (growth of unwanted facial hair) in women. Eflora Cream slows down the growth of facial hair but cannot stop it.
Facial hirsutism (excessive growth of facial hair)
Facial hirsutism is a condition in women that can result in the growth of hair on the face similar to that of a man. With hirsutism, excess hair growth is often accompanied by male hormones (androgens), primarily testosterone. It inhibits the activity of an enzyme that is responsible for excessive hair growth on the face and under the chin in women.
Eflora Cream is not recommended for use in patients below the age of 12 years.
Eflora Cream Dosage :-
Eflora Cream for external use only.
Eflora Cream is a prescription medicine, Use Eflora Cream as directed by your doctor.
- Generally, Eflora Cream should be applied to the affected skin twice a day.
- Before each application of Eflora Cream, the affected area should be washed with soap and water and dried thoroughly.
- A gap of at least 8 hours should be maintained between each application of Eflora Cream.
- Follow all the usage instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert.
- Face wash should be avoided for a period of 4 hours after the application of Eflora Cream.
- Avoid getting it in eyes, mouth or nose. If you accidentally get in these areas, rinse with cool water.
- Consult your doctor if your skin condition does not improve after 4 months of treatment with Eflora Cream.
- If you should not stop using Eflora Cream without asking a doctor because hair growth may resume.
Eflora Cream Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Eflora Cream can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
• Acne,
• Itching,
• Hair loss,
• Irritation,
• Dry skin,
• Rash,
• Stinging sensation,
• Hair follicle inflammation,
• Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation),
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.
Precautions & Warnings :-
• Eflora Cream is suggested for external use only. Avoid touching your eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds. Wash with water immediately in case of accidental contact.
• Eflora Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. You should consult your doctor for use in pregnancy.
• Eflora Cream is probably considered safe to use during breastfeeding. The study of limited human data suggests that Eflora Cream does not represent any risk to the baby.
