Rcifax Tablet Uses :
Rcifax Tablet is an antibiotic. Rcifax Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections. Rcifax Tablet is used to treat traveller's diarrhoea (an intestinal infection that happens as a result of eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water while travelling) which is caused due to E. coli bacteria. Rcifax Tablet works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Rcifax Tablet Dosage :-
Rcifax Tablet is a prescription medicine. Rcifax Tablet can be taken with or without food, as advised by your doctor.
Rcifax Tablet dose or duration and treatment will be decided by your doctor.
It is better to take Rcifax Tablet at a fixed time every day.
If you miss a dose of Rcifax Tablet, take Rcifax Tablet as soon as you remember.
Rcifax Tablet Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Rcifax Tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effect.
• Headache,
• Peripheral edema,
• Nausea,
• Dizziness,
• Fatigue,
• Ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity),
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.

Rifaximin is an antibiotic. Rifaximin works by killing the ammonia-producing bacteria in the digestive tract, and treats your infection.

Precautions & Warnings :-
• Rcifax Tablet is not suggested if you are allergic to Rifaximin.
• Tell your doctor about your current medications and pre-existing medical conditions before having Rcifax Tablet. This will help your doctor adjust the dose to avoid any of the side effects.
• Rcifax Tablet is not suggested for use in your pregnancy as limited safety information is available. So, inform your doctor before having Rcifax Tablet.
• It is not known whether Rcifax Tablet can passes into the breastmilk or not. So, it is not suggested for use while breastfeeding unless necessary. Ask your doctor before having Rcifax Tablet.
• Traveller's diarrhoea caused by other bacteria
Rcifax Tablet is reported to be helpfull to treat traveller's diarrhoea caused by E. coli bacteria. It is not suggested to take Rcifax Tablet for traveller's diarrhoea caused by other bacteria.
• Rcifax Tablet can give rise to diarrhoea because it can also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Tell your doctor if you undergo critical diarrhoea while taking Rcifax Tablet.
• Antibiotic resistance take place when bacteria develop the capacity to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. So, finish your full course of treatment with Rcifax Tablet even if your condition gets better after a few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.
• Rcifax Tablet can give rise to dizziness. So, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy after taking Rcifax Tablet.
• Rcifax Tablet is not suggested for use in children below the age of 12 years for the treatment of traveller's diarrhoea.
• Due to the lack of safety data, Rcifax Tablet must be used with caution if you have kidney problems. Inform your doctor before having Rcifax Tablet.
• Rcifax Tablet can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and lead to diarrhoea. Therefore use Rcifax Tablet with very caution if you have stomach and intestinal problems, mostly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the large intestine), as it may further worsen your condition.
• Rcifax Tablet is broken down in the liver. So, it must be used carefully if you have serious liver problems.
• Do not take more or less than the suggested dose of Rcifax Tablet. Take Rcifax Tablet for the suggested duration to avoid the risk of re-infection that would be hard to treat in the future.
• Take Rcifax Tablet at the same time daily for the ease of remembering. Inform your doctor immediately if you undergo any side effects that continue or worsen.
