Rifarex 550 Tablet Uses :
Rifarex 550 Tablet is an antibiotic. Rifarex 550 Tablet is use for treating hepatic encephalopathy (a decline in brain function that happens due to the build-up of toxins in the blood as a result of critical liver disease) and irritable bowel syndrome. (a gastrointestinal disorder that give rise to pain in the abdomen and changes in bowel movements).
Rifarex 550 Tablet Dosage :-
Rifarex 550 Tablet is a prescription medicine. Rifarex 550 Tablet can be taken with or without food, as advised by your doctor.
Rifarex 550 Tablet dose or duration and treatment will be decided by your doctor.
It is better to take Rifarex 550 Tablet at a fixed time every day.
If you miss a dose of Rifarex 550 Tablet, take Rifarex 550 Tablet as soon as you remember.
Make sure that you complete the course treatment to cure the risk of re-infection and antibiotic resistance (bacteria develop the capacity to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them).
Rifarex 550 Tablet Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Rifarex 550 Tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effect.
• Headache,
• Peripheral edema,
• Nausea,
• Dizziness,
• Fatigue,
• Ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity),
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.

Rifaximin is an antibiotic. Rifaximin works by killing the ammonia-producing bacteria in the digestive tract, and treats your infection.

Precautions & Warnings :-
• Rifarex 550 Tablet is not suggested if you are allergic to Rifaximin.
• Tell your doctor about your current medications and pre-existing medical conditions before having Rifarex 550 Tablet. This will help your doctor adjust the dose to avoid any of the side effects.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet is not suggested for use in your pregnancy as limited safety information is available. So, inform your doctor before having Rifarex 550 Tablet.
• It is not known whether Rifarex 550 Tablet can passes into the breastmilk or not. So, it is not suggested for use while breastfeeding unless necessary. Ask your doctor before having Rifarex 550 Tablet.
• Traveller's diarrhoea caused by other bacteria
Rifarex 550 Tablet is reported to be helpfull to treat traveller's diarrhoea caused by E. coli bacteria. It is not suggested to take Rifarex 550 Tablet for traveller's diarrhoea caused by other bacteria.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet can give rise to diarrhoea because it can also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Tell your doctor if you undergo critical diarrhoea while taking Rifarex 550 Tablet.
• Antibiotic resistance take place when bacteria develop the capacity to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. So, finish your full course of treatment with Rifarex 550 Tablet even if your condition gets better after a few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet can give rise to dizziness. So, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy after taking Rifarex 550 Tablet.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet is not suggested for use in children below the age of 12 years for the treatment of traveller's diarrhoea.
• Due to the lack of safety data, Rifarex 550 Tablet must be used with caution if you have kidney problems. Inform your doctor before having Rifarex 550 Tablet.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and lead to diarrhoea. Therefore use Rifarex 550 Tablet with very caution if you have stomach and intestinal problems, mostly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the large intestine), as it may further worsen your condition.
• Rifarex 550 Tablet is broken down in the liver. So, it must be used carefully if you have serious liver problems.
• Do not take more or less than the suggested dose of Rifarex 550 Tablet. Take Rifarex 550 Tablet for the suggested duration to avoid the risk of re-infection that would be hard to treat in the future.
• Take Rifarex 550 Tablet at the same time daily for the ease of remembering. Inform your doctor immediately if you undergo any side effects that continue or worsen.
