Ferric Carboxymaltose is prescribed for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.
Ferric Carboxymaltose Composition :-
Ferric Carboxymaltose 500 mg for intravenous (into the vein) use only.
Ferric Carboxymaltose Uses :-
Diron FCM 500 Injection is used in the treatment of anemia, a decrease in the amount of red blood cells in your body due to insufficient iron (iron deficiency anemia). Thus iron is needed for the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen around your body.
Ferric Carboxymaltose Dosage :-
Ferric Carboxymaltose is a prescription medicine.
Your doctor or nurse will give you Diron FCM 500 Injection. Kindly do not self administer Diron FCM 500 Injection.
Ferric Carboxymaltose dose or duration and treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your health/medical condition and other underlying problems.
Ferric Carboxymaltose is given as an intravenous (into the vein) injection.
If you miss a dose of Ferric Carboxymaltose, give Ferric Carboxymaltose as soon as you remember. Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
Ferric Carboxymaltose Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Ferric Carboxymaltose can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
• Vomiting,
• Headache,
• Dizziness,
• Pain or irritation at the injection site.
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.

Ferric Carboxymaltose is an anti-anemic drug. Ferric Carboxymaltose replenishes iron stores in the body. This iron is important for the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, a substance that gives these cells the ability to transport oxygen.
Thus, Ferric Carboxymaltose treats of iron deficiency anemia.
Precautions & Warnings :-
• Avoid using Ferric Carboxymaltose if you have allergy to Ferric Carboxymaltose.
• Your blood pressure and blood iron levels will be regularly monitored during treatment with Diron FCM 500 Injection.
• Inform your doctor if you are taking any iron-containing products by mouth, during treatment with Diron FCM 500 Injection.
• Do not consume alcohol when on treatment with Diron FCM 500 Injection as it may worsen its side effects.
• It may cause your stools to become dark or black in color. This is normal and harmless.
• Diron FCM 500 Injection is not recommended in children less than 14 years of age because safety and efficacy data are not available for children younger than 14 years of age.
• Notify your doctor if you have joint pain, liver or skin conditions, including those on your ongoing medication.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Diron FCM 500 Injection.
