Glisen VM 2 Tablet is an antidiabetic medicine. Glisen VM 2 Tablet is used to control type 2 diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar levels) in adult patients above 18 years of age.
Glisen VM 2 Tablet Dosage :-
Glisen VM 2 Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Glisen VM 2 Tablet as directed by your doctor.
Glisen VM 2 Tablet can be taken with food, and should be swallowed whole and tablets must not be split, crushed, or chewed before swallowing.

Glisen VM 2 Tablet consists of : Glimepiride, Voglibose & Metformin.

• Glimepiride :
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea. Glimepiride works by lowering the blood sugar by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas.
• Voglibose :
Voglibose is a alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. Voglibose helps control the amount of glucose (sugars) in the blood by inhibiting the intestinal enzyme (alpha glucosidase) and delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine.
• Metformin :
Metformin is a biguanide. Metformin increases the body's sensitivity to insulin by reducing the production of glucose in the liver and delaying the absorption of glucose from the intestines.

Precautions Warnings :-
• Do not take Glisen VM 2 Tablet, if you are allergic to Glimepiride, Voglibose & Metformin or any of the other ingredients of Glisen VM 2 Tablet.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet is not suggested for use in children and adolescents since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
• Before taking Glisen VM 2 Tablet, inform your doctor if you have liver and kidney problems.
• If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Glisen VM 2 Tablet.
• Alcohol should not be consumed during treatment with Glisen VM 2 Tablet, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis (increased lactic acid level in blood). Thereby the reason may affect how to control blood sugar level.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet can cause hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose level). Hence regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is recommended.
• Use of Glisen VM 2 Tablet is not recommended during surgery due to the increased risk of lactic acidosis (high level of lactic acid in blood). Before any surgery inform your doctor if you are taking Glisen VM 2 Tablet.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet can cause dizziness due to low blood sugar levels which can affect your mental alertness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms after taking Glisen VM 2 Tablet.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet increases your risk of falling asleep and thinking problems when taken along with medicines that have sedative effects. Tell your doctor about all your current medications, including any herbs or supplements, before starting treatment with Glisen VM 2 Tablet.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet can be used with other medicines such as :
Estradiol,
Miconazole,
Corticosteroids,
Insulin,
Iodine Contrast Media,
Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics,
Fluconazole,
ACE inhibitor.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet should be used with caution in people with Vitamin B12 deficiency. This is because Glisen VM 2 Tablet can interfere with the absorption of vitamin B12 in the body.
• Glisen VM 2 Tablet should be used with caution in people having heart problems.
• If you have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, a genetic condition in which red blood cells break down when exposed to certain drugs, infections, or stress. Which can result in hemolytic anemia (low red blood cell count).
