Telmisartan is prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).
Telmisartan Dosage Forms and Strenght :-

Telmisartan Uses :-
Telmisartan is an antihypertensive medication. Telmisartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure in adults. Telmisartan is used to reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults.
Telmisartan Dosage :-
Telmisartan is a oral administration only and take Telmisartan as directed by your doctor.
Telmisartan can be taken with or without food, and should be swallowed whole and tablets must not be split, crushed, or chewed before swallowing.
Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor and never self-medicate or change the dosage without a doctor's advice.
Do not take 2 or more doses at the same time. Always try to take Telmisartan on regular schedule.
Always take Telmisartan regularly and keep taking it even if you feel better.
Complete the course of Telmisartan and do not stop taking Telmisartan without consulting a doctor.
Telmisartan Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Telmisartan can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects. Telmisartan is a safe medicine although it may have some common side effects such as :

• Diarrhea,

Precautions & Warnings :-
• Avoid taking Telmisartan if you are allergic to telmisartan.
• Telmisartan is absorbed in your liver. Therefore, Telmisartan is not recommended if you have liver problems as it may increase the risk of side effects. And liver damage may occur.
• Telmisartan is not recommended for use in the second and third trimester of pregnancy as Telmisartan (Telmisartan) may harm your foetus. Telmisartan should be discontinued as soon as possible because Telmisartan can cause injury to the developing fetus and even death if used in pregnancy during the second and third trimester of pregnancy.
• It is not known whether Telmisartan passes into breast milk. Therefore, use of Telmisartan is not recommended during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using Telmisartan.
• Telmisartan may cause increased potassium levels in your blood (hyperkalemia). If you are taking potassium supplements, or if you have kidney failure.
• Use Telmisartan with caution. If required
Your doctor may suggest tests to closely monitor your potassium levels while taking Telmisartan.
• Telmisartan is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy data are not available.
• Telmisartan may cause dizziness and drowsiness in some people. Avoid driving vehicles and machines if you experience any such symptoms.
• If you take Telmisartan in high doses it may cause hypotension. Your doctor may adjust the dose of Telmisartan depending on your clinical condition.
