Mirabegron is used for symptomatic treatment of urgency, increased micturition frequency and/or urgency incontinence in patients with hyperactive bladder (OAB) syndrome.
Mirabegron Dosage form & Strength :-
• Mirabegron 25 mg tablet for oral administration only.
• Mirabegron 50 mg tablet for oral administration only.

Mirabegron reduces the symptoms of overactive bladder. It does not treat the condition with symptoms of overactive bladder.
Symptoms of overactive bladder such as :
• Sudden and urgent need to urinate,
• Need to urinate more often than usual,
• Wetting yourself if you are not able to urinate on time,
Mirabegron Dosage :-
Mirabegron should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Mirabegron is a usually taken one time in a day with or without food. Take linagliptin at the same time every day you take. You should follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and tell your doctor to explain any part that you do not understand. Do not take more or less of it or take it more frequently than recommend by your doctor.
Mirabegron starts working within a few hours of taking it but it may take several weeks to reach the full effect. And usually take mirabegron for a long time to help keep your symptoms under control.
Mirabegron Side-effects :-
Like all medicines, Mirabegron can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
• Urinary tract infection,
• Tachycardia,
• Nausea,
• Constipation,
• Diarrhoea,
• Headache,
• Dizziness,
Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.
How Mirabegron Works :-
Mirabegron :
Mirabegron is a selective beta 3-adrenoceptor agonist. The activation of beta-3 receptors relaxes detrusor smooth muscle during the storage phase of the urinary bladder fill-void cycle, which increases the bladder's storage capacity thereby alleviating feelings of urgency and frequency.
Thus, Mirabegron works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder. Reduces your need to urinate as often or urgently.
Precautions Warnings :-
• Do not take Mirabegron, if you are allergic to Mirabegron.
• There are no sufficient and well-controlled studies using Mirabegron in pregnant women. Mirabegron should be used during pregnancy only if the possible benefit to the patient outweighs the risk to the patient and fetus. Women who become pregnant during Mirabegron treatment are inspired to contact their physician.
• It is unknown whether Mirabegron is eject in human milk. Mirabegron was found in the milk of rats at directions twice the maternal plasma level. Mirabegron was found in the lungs, liver, and kidneys of nursing pups. No studies have been arranged to evaluate the impact of Mirabegron on milk production in humans, its presence in human breast milk, or its effects on the breast-fed child. Because Mirabegron is forecast to be excreted in human milk and because of the potential for important adverse reactions in nursing infants, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the significant of the drug to the mother.
• The safety and success of mirabegron in children below 18 years of age have not been till established. No data are available.
• No dose adjustment is required for the elderly. The pharmacokinetics of Mirabegron is not seriously influenced by age.
• Mirabegron has not been studied in patients with critical hepatic impairment, and therefore is not suggested for use in this patient population.
