GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet is prescribed to control high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus for adult patients above 18 years of age.

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet Composition :-

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet consists of : Dapagliflozin 10 mg, Glimepiride 1 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg.

• Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitors.

• Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea.

• Metformin Hydrochloride is a biguanide.

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet is an antidiabetic medicine. GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet is used to control type 2 diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar levels) in adult patients above 18 years of age.

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet Dosage :-

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet as directed by your doctor. 

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet can be taken with or without food, and should be swallowed whole and tablets must not be split, crushed, or chewed before swallowing.

• Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level),

• Urinary tract infection
• Genital fungal infection,

• Nasopharyngitis,

Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.

GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet combination of three medicine : Dapagliflozin, Glimepiride & Metformin Hydrochloride.

Dapagliflozin :

Dapagliflozin works by blocking a protein in the kidney Which is called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitors. SGLT2 is a protein Which absorbs glucose from the urine into the blood flow as it is filtered into the blood kidney.

By blocking the action of SGLT2, dapagliflozin causes the removal of excess glucose through urine, which reduces the level of glucose in the blood.

Glimepiride :

Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea. Glimepiride works by lowering the blood sugar by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas.

Metformin Hydrochloride :

Metformin Hydrochloride is an antidiabetic drugs belonging to a class of drugs called biguanide. Metformin delays the absorption of glucose from the intestines, by reducing the production of glucose in the liver. And thus metformin works by increasing the sensitivity of the body to insulin.

• Type 1 Diabetes : GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet is not suggested for use in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.

• Drinking of alcohol is not suggested during treatment with GemerDapa XR 10/1/500 Tablet due to the grown risk of critical adverse effects.
