Tongue Cancer एक प्रकार का oral cancer है जो जीभ की cells में abnormal growth के कारण होता है। यह अक्सर धीरे-धीरे शुरू होकर बाद में गंभीर रूप ले सकता है।
📌 Tongue Cancer क्या है?
Tongue cancer में tongue की tissues में malignant (कैंसरयुक्त) cells विकसित होने लगती हैं। यह oral cavity cancer का एक common type है।
सबसे common type Squamous Cell Carcinoma होता है जो tongue की surface lining से शुरू होता है।
महत्वपूर्ण: Early stage में tongue cancer painless हो सकता है, इसलिए शुरुआती घाव को नजरअंदाज नहीं करना चाहिए।

- Body of tongue: main middle part
- Base of tongue: पीछे का हिस्सा (throat के पास)

📌 Types of Tongue Cancer
1. Squamous Cell Carcinoma
सबसे common type, oral mucosa cells से शुरू होता है।
2. Early Stage Tongue Cancer
छोटा lesion, localized रहता है और फैलता नहीं है।
3. Advanced Stage Tongue Cancer
Cancer आसपास के tissues और lymph nodes तक फैल सकता है।
📌 Causes (कारण)
- Tobacco smoking
- Chewing tobacco / gutkha
- Excess alcohol consumption
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus) infection
- Poor oral hygiene
📌 Risk Factors
- Long-term tobacco use
- Alcohol + tobacco combined use
- Age > 40 years
- Male gender (higher risk)
- HPV exposure
📌 Symptoms (लक्षण)
- Non-healing mouth ulcer
- Tongue pain or burning sensation
- Bleeding from tongue
- Lump or thick patch on tongue
- Difficulty chewing or swallowing
- Numbness in tongue
- Bad breath (halitosis)
चेतावनी: 2 हफ्ते से ज्यादा रहने वाला mouth ulcer cancer का warning sign हो सकता है।
📌 Early Warning Signs
- Small persistent sore on tongue
- White or red patch (leukoplakia/erythroplakia)
- Unexplained tongue pain
- Difficulty speaking clearly
