Debriwell Ointment Uses :-
Debriwell Ointment is a debriding agents’ is used on wounds to remove dead tissue as well as improve healing. Debriwell Ointment also helps thin the pus present in lesions (ulcers, cysts, bedsores, surgical wounds).
Debridement: It is a method of treating the wounded skin. These agents help to take out dead skin and tissues from wounds including ulcers, cysts, bedsores, surgical wounds. Sometimes, it is also used to take out foreign material from tissues. It also helps to increase the healing process of wounds.
Directions For Use :-
• You should apply Debriwell Ointment as per the recommendation of the doctor.
• Debriwell Ointment for external use only.
Softly rinse the affected area with saline or water before applying Debriwell Ointment.
• Tap the skin and dry it with a clean cotton towel. Apply a large amount of Debriwell Ointment and spread it uniformly on the affected areas of the skin to form a 1/8-inch thick layer with clean and dry hands.
• You may also apply Debriwell Ointment with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab.
• You should always wash your hands before and after using Debriwell Ointment on the affected areas unless the treatment is for hands.
How Dose Debriwell Ointment Work :-
Debriwell Ointment contains Papain and Urea. These two medicines are keratolytic agents, grow moisture in the skin, and dissolve the keratin (protein present on the skin's outer layer). This effect makes the dead skin cells fall off and increase the healing process. It also has an emollient effect and helps in softening the skin. Thus, Debriwell Ointment treat on wounds to remove dead tissue as well as improve healing.
Debriwell Ointment Sideeffects :-
Like all medicines, Debriwell Ointment can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like -
• Burning sensation,
• Skin irritation,
• Irritation at the treated area. These side-effects are commonly lenient and temporary. Although, if any of these side-effects continue or get worse, consult your doctor immediately.
Precautions and Warning :-
• It is not suggested to take Debriwell Ointment if you are allergic to any contents of it.
• Before applying Debriwell Ointment, let know your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease and poor blood circulation.
• Do not apply Debriwell Ointment on skin cuts, infections, or sores. It is not prescribed for use in children less than 2 years.
• Debriwell Ointment is for vital (skin) use only.
• Do not use Debriwell Ointment in and around your eyes. If the Debriwell Ointment accidentally gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or genitals, wash with water fully.
• Debriwell Ointment should not be apply to children who have a fever, mostly if they have flu symptoms or chickenpox.
• Debriwell Ointment can increase skin sensitivity to the sun, so take main precautions while going outside and avoid tanning beds or sunlamps.
• If you notice any continuous skin irritation or worsening of the skin disease, you should stop use of Debriwell Ointment and immediately and talk to your doctor.
• Drug-Drug Interactions: Debriwell Ointment is known to interconnect with other topical medicines consisting hydrogen peroxide, silver nitrate, silver sulfadiazine, silver, mercury, lead, and thimerosal.
• Debriwell Ointment must be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney diseases and poor blood circulation.
• Debriwell Ointment can not interact with alcohol.
• Pregnancy
Debriwell Ointment consist urea, a Category C pregnancy drug that can give rise to harmful effects on the unborn baby. So, it is given to a pregnant woman only if the doctor thinks the benefits exceed the risks.
• Breast Feeding
It is unknown that Debriwell Ointment can pass or not into breast milk. So, it is given to a breastfeeding mother only if the doctor thinks the benefits exceed the risks.
• Liver
Debriwell Ointment must be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. The dose can have to be adjusted by your doctor.
• Kidney
Debriwell Ointment must be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases. The dose have to be adjusted by your doctor.
• Use lenient soap while taking baths and prefer warm baths.
Avoid harsh products on your skin.
• You should not scratch or pick your skin to avoid getting the affected area infected.
• Control stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise daily, and get plenty of sleep.
• Limit food intake that may activate allergies like dairy products, soy, eggs, and nuts.
• Avoid having foods with excess sugar as it can flare-up inflammation.
• Avoid getting in touch with harsh soaps, detergents, and rough fabrics.
• Wear clothes with long sleeves, a hat, and sunscreen of high SPF while going outdoors.
•Before applying Debriwell Ointment, ignore using hydrogen peroxide to clean your wound as it can affect the effectiveness of Debriwell Ointment.
• If there is no improvement in your situation after 4-6 weeks of treatment with Debriwell Ointment, talk to your dermatologist.
