Nausea

About Nausea :
There is a feeling of nausea, urge to vomit or abdominal discomfort. Nausea can have many causes and it can be prevented.

Causes of Nausea :
There are many causes of nausea. Some people are highly sensitive to motion or the effects of certain foods, drugs, or certain medical conditions. All these can cause nausea.
 Some common causes of nausea:
Heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) causes the contents of your stomach to flow back up your esophagus when you eat it, as well as a burning sensation that can cause nausea.
- virus or bacteria
Viruses or bacteria can cause nausea by affecting the stomach. Foodborne bacteria cause a disease known as food poisoning. Viral infections also cause nausea.
- Medicine
Some drugs, for example, cancer treatments such as chemotherapy – can contribute to nausea by causing upset stomach. Also some other medications can contribute to nausea.
- Motion sickness and sea sickness
A bumpy ride in a vehicle causes motion sickness and sea sickness. This movement causes the messages transmitted to the brain to not sync with the senses, causing nausea, dizziness or vomiting.
- diet
Nausea can be caused by an upset stomach from eating certain foods, such as high-fat foods or spicy foods. Eating certain allergenic foods can cause nausea.

Intense pain can contribute to symptoms of nausea. It is perfect for painful conditions such as gallstones, pancreatitis and/or kidney stones.

Ulcers, or sores in the stomach or lining of the small intestine, can contribute to nausea. When you eat, ulcers cause burning and sudden nausea.

- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV),
- ear infection,
- migraine,
- intestinal obstruction,
- heart attack,
- Meningitis,
- liver failure or liver cancer,

Symptoms of Nausea:
When you're experiencing nausea, that's when you feel sick to your stomach.

- weakness,
- urge to vomit,
- buildup of saliva in your mouth,

Cause of Nausea:
The most common causes of nausea are stomach flu (viral gastroenteritis) and food poisoning.
• Other causes of nausea include:
- Sickness and other forms of motion sickness,
- early stages of pregnancy (morning sickness),
- severe pain,
- gallbladder disease,
- due to exposure to chemical toxins,
- emotional stress, such as fear
- Indigestion,
- special smell,
Many other drugs also cause nausea.

How is nausea treated?
Treatment depends on the cause of the nausea. For example:
While traveling, sitting in the front seat provides relief from motion sickness. Motion sickness medications such as dimenhydrinate or antihistamine medications may help.
Taking medicines to remove the root cause of nausea also helps. For example, stomach-acid reducers for GERD or pain relievers for acute headaches.
Staying hydrated after nausea has subsided helps reduce dehydration. Including taking small, frequent sips of fluids such as water or electrolyte-rich drinks.

How to stop nausea?
• Avoiding nausea triggers can help prevent the onset of nausea. This includes avoiding:
Motion sickness can be prevented by taking anti-nausea medication before travel.
- Strong odors, such as perfumes and cooking smells,
- flickering lights that trigger migraine attacks,
- heat and humidity,
- sea voyages,
• Changing your eating habits, such as eating smaller meals, may help reduce symptoms of nausea.
• Avoiding intense physical activity after a meal can also help reduce nausea.
• Avoiding high-fat, spicy or greasy foods may also help reduce nausea.
