Temsirolimus is an anti-cancer medicine. Temsirolimus is used for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma.

Take Temsirolimus properly as your doctor tells you to take it.
The recommende dose of Temsirolimus administered as an intravenous infusion over a 30–60 minute period one time in a week.
Temsirolimus Side-effects :-
Common side effects of Temsirolimus:
• Rash,
• Asthenia,
• Mucositis,
• Nausea,
• Edema,
• Anorexia,
• Anemia,
• Hyperglycemia,
• Hyperlipidemia,
• Hypertriglyceridemia,
• Elevated alkaline phosphatase,
• Elevated serum creatinine,
• Lymphopenia,
• Hypophosphatemia,
• Thrombocytopenia,
• Elevated AST,
• Leukopenia,
These are not all the possible side effects of Temsirolimus. Consult your doctor and if you have any new or worsening side effects.
Precautions & Warnings :-
• Hypersensitivity/Infusion Reactions (involving some life-threatening and rare fatal reactions) can take place early in the first infusion of Temsirolimus. Patients must be monitored fully in the infusion.
To treat hypersensitivity reactions, avoid Temsirolimus and treat with an antihistamine. Temsirolimus can be again started at physician discretion at a slower rate.
• Hepatic Impairment: Use with caution when treating patients with lenient hepatic impairment and decrease dose.
• Hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia are probably and can require treatment. Check glucose and lipid profiles.
• Infections can result from immunosuppression.
Check for symptoms or radiographic changes of interstitial lung disease (ILD). If ILD is suspected, discontinue Temsirolimus, and consider use of corticosteroids and antibiotics.
• Bowel perforation can take place. Check fever, abdominal pain, bloody stools, and/or acute abdomen promptly.
• Renal failure, sometimes fatal, has occurred. Keep a track of renal function at baseline and while on Temsirolimus.
• Because of abnormal wound healing, use Temsirolimus with caution in the perioperative period.
Proteinuria and nephrotic syndrome can take place. Keep a track of urine protein prior to the start of Temsirolimus therapy and periodically thereafter. Stop using Temsirolimus in patients with who develop nephrotic syndrome.
• Live vaccinations and close contact with those who got live vaccines should be avoided.
• Can lead to fetal harm. Advise patients of the potential hazard to the fetus and to use helpfull contraception.
• Elderly patients can be more probable to experience specific adverse reactions, including diarrhea, edema and pneumonia.
