How Finerenone Works :-

Finerenone contains finerenone.

Finerenone is a nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist.

The tissues of the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels contain the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR).

When the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) is overactivated it causes inflammation, tissue damage, and scarring, which worsens kidney disease and heart disease.

Finerenone blocks the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR), thereby reducing the likelihood of the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) causing excessive inflammation and damage to the kidneys, blood vessels, and heart.

Finerenone thus prevents chronic kidney disease (CKD) from worsening and reduces the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack or heart failure.
