Budetrol 400 Rotacap is used to control and prevent the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

To prevent symptoms like chest tightness, wheezing and shortness of breath, etc.

How Does Budetrol 400 Rotacap ( formoterol & budesonide ) Work :-



Budetrol 400 Rotacap contains formoterol & budesonide.

Budesonide is a corticosteroid. Budesonide ICS helps to reduce inflammation in the lungs, and at the same time it makes it easier to breathe.

Formoterol fumarate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), helps to open the airways by relaxing the smooth muscles around the airways in the lungs.

Caution :-


• Capsules are to be inhaled through Rotahaler and not to be swallowed.

• Do not push any clothing or equipment into the mouthpiece as this may damage the Rotahaler.


Precautions :-


Budetrol 400 Rotacap is not useful in reducing sudden breathing problems.

• It is a controller medication, so you may notice an improvement in your breathing over time if you take it, but you should continue to take this medication.

• Before using it, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, or any medicines you are taking for it. Because some patients taking this rotacap may experience changes in blood pressure, heart rate, or heart rhythm.

• While using this Rotacap, do not use any other medicine containing a LABA (long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist) for any reason.

• Women who are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, check with their doctor before using the rotacap and do not use this rotacap unless the doctor tells you to do so.

• If a woman becomes pregnant while using the Rotacap, do not stop using the rotacap but contact your doctor.

• Breastfeeding women, consult your doctor before using this Rotacap.

• Before using the rotacap, tell your doctor if:

you are diabetic patients,

If you have severe liver problems,

if you have a lung infection,

If you have high blood pressure or heart problems (such as narrowing of the arteries, heart failure,

An uneven heartbeat or a very fast pulse),

If you have problems with your thyroid or adrenal glands & Low levels of potassium in your blood,

You have blurred vision or other visual disturbances.

• Before using the rotacap, tell your doctor if you are already taking other medicines such as,

Beta-blocker (such as atenolol or propranolol ),

Medicines for uneven or fast heartbeats (such as quinidine),

Medicines to treat heart failure (such as digoxin),

Diuretic drugs (such as furosemide),

Steroid medicine (such as prednisolone),

Asthma medicine (such as theophylline or aminophylline),

Bronchodilator drugs (such as salbutamol),

Eyedrops for glaucoma (such as timolol),

Anti-depressant medicines (such as amitriptyline),

Medicines for Parkinson's disease (such as leva-dopa),

Phenothiazine medications (such as prochlorperazine and chlorpromazine),

Medicines for thyroid problems (such as levo-thyroxine),

Medicines to treat HIV infection (such as ritonavir)

Medicines to treat infections (such as itraconazole, voriconazole, ketoconazole, and clarithromycin).

When should I take Budetrol 400 Rotacap?


Your doctor will tell you how often you need to use the rotacap. Use the rotacap exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to use it. Usually take 1 breath of the rotacap, and use it 2 times a day. Do not use this rotacap more often than prescribed, and at the same time every day, at intervals of about 12 hours.
The dosage of this Rotacap depends on the response to the treatment and the medical condition.


How effective is Budetrol 400 Rotacap?


This Rotacap is safe and effective, usually starts working within minutes. Effects last for several hours. It helps in relieving your symptoms like shortness of breath, tightness in chest, wheezing and cough.


What are the side effects of Budetrol 400 Rotacap?

How to use Budetrol 400 Rotacap with Rotahaler?


Hold the Rotahaler vertically.
Note: It is important to position the two halves of the Rotahaler such that the fin is not directly below the Rotacap hole.

Take a Rotacap trom its bottle. Insert the
Rotacap into the Rotacap hole with the transparent end facing down. Press the Rotacap firmly so that the top end is level with the top of the rotacap hole.

Remove the Rotahaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or for as long as it is comfortable. It is important to inhale all the powder. You may need to repeat step 4 to ensure this.

If you are taking a second rotacap, insert a new rotacap. When the new rotacap is inserted the empty rotacap remaining in the rotacap hole will be pushed out.


Rotahaler cleaning


Wash the Rotahaler at least once a week:

• Separate the two halves of the Rotahaler
• Remove the empty Rotacap from the Rotacap hole (if any) and discard the empty Rotacaps.
• Rinse the two halves in clean running water.
• Shake well to remove excess water and leave the two halves to air dry. Do not expose the Rotahaler to heat.

• Rejoin the two halves of the Rotahaler to be ready for the next use.


• Always keep the Rotahaler clean and dry, and never use it when it is wet.

• It is recommended to use a new Rotahaler every 6 months.

• Use only as dirccted by your doctor. If the recommended dose does not provide relief from symptoms or if symptoms become worse, consult your doctor.

• Keep the Rotacap container tightly closed. Insert the Rotacap into the Rotahaler just prior to use as capsules exposed to moisture may not break open.

• At times a fine layer of powder may
remain in the empty Rotacap after use
This is normal and does not after the effect of the medicine.

Store the rotahaler along with the rotacap bottle in the convenient carry box provided.
