Glycomet 1 gm Tablet Uses :-
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glycomet 1 gm Tablet helps to control blood sugar level and prevents serious complications of diabetes.
By lowering or controlling blood sugar levels in this way, you can reduce your risk of serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, nerve problems, eye damage and loss of organs.
When Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is used along with a healthy diet and exercise, it helps a lot in controlling blood sugar.
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet Dosage :-
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Glycomet 1 gm Tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Glycomet 1 gm Tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor.
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet should be taken during or after a meal. Never self-medicate or change the dosage without a doctor's advice. Do not take 2 or more doses at the same time.

Metformin hydrochloride is an antidiabetic drugs belonging to a class of drugs called biguanides.
Metformin delays the absorption of glucose from the intestines, by reducing the production of glucose in the liver. And thus metformin works by increasing the sensitivity of the body to insulin.
Thus Glycomet 1 gm tablet works by controlling the level of sugar in the blood.

Pregnancy : Safe
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown no or no adverse effects on the developing baby.
Breastfeeding : Safe
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that metformin does not represent any risk to the baby.
Driving : Caution
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is too high or low during treatment with Glycomet 1 gm Tablet. Do not drive if you have these symptoms.
Kidney : Caution
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Glycomet 1 gm Tablet may be needed. Consult your doctor for this. Use of Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is generally not advised in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised while you are taking Glycomet 1 gm Tablet.
Liver : Caution
Glycomet 1 gm Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Glycomet 1 gm Tablet may be needed. Consult your doctor for this. Low dose of Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is generally started in patients with mild liver disease and use of Glycomet 1 gm Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Alcohol : Unsafe
It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Glycomet 1 gm Tablet. Therefore, do not consume alcohol after taking Glycomet 1 gm Tablet.
