Nitrofur SR tablet is prescribed to treat urinary tract infections ( UTI ).

Nitrofur SR Tablet Uses :-
Nitrofur SR tablet is used to treat urinary tract infections.
Nitrofur SR tablet works by killing the bacteria that cause the urinary tract infections.
Nitrofur SR tablet may be prescribed for other uses. For more information consult your doctor.
Nitrofur SR Tablet Dosage :-
Nitrofur SR tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Nitrofur SR tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Nitrofur SR tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor.
Nitrofur SR tablet is usually taken for urinary tract infections twice a day for at least 7 days. Take it with a full glass of water and food.
You should start to feel better during your first few days of treatment with Nitrofur SR tablet. If symptoms do not improve or get worse, consult your doctor.
Keep taking Nitrofur SR tablet until you have completed treatment, even if you feel better. If you stop taking Nitrofur SR tablet too soon or skip doses, the infection may become more difficult to treat and the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then the missed dose should be skipped. And take the rest of the dose for that day at equal intervals. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Like all medicines, Nitrofur SR tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.
Some common side effects like :
Dark yellow or brown urine,
Nausea,
Vomit,
Loss of appetite,
Shortness of breath,
Excessive fatigue,
Fever or chills,
Pain in chest,
Coughing up,
Numbness or tingling,
Muscle weakness,
Swelling of the tongue or lips,
Skin rash,

Before taking Nitrofur SR Tablet -
• If you are allergic to Nitrofur SR Tablet. So tell your doctor.
• Tell your doctor that you are taking certain medications such as antacids, antibiotics, benztropine, diphenhydramine, probenecid, and trihexyphenidyl.
• If you have anemia, lung disease, kidney disease, nerve damage, or glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency. So tell your doctor before taking Nitrofur SR Tablet.
• Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding women taking Nitrofur SR Tablet Tell your doctor before taking Nitrofur SR Tablet.
Pregnant women should not take Nitrofur SR Tablet in the last month.
• Talk to your doctor about the safe use of Nitrofur SR Tablet in older people or people over 65 years of age. Older adults in general should not take Nitrofur SR Tablet because it is not as safe as other medicines.
• Nitrofur SR Tablet can make you drowsy. Do not perform mental tasks or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.
• Ask your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking Nitrofur SR Tablet. Because alcohol can make the side effects of Nitrofur SR Tablet worse.
• Nitrofur SR Tablet can make your skin sensitive to sunlight. Avoid prolonged or unnecessary sun exposure.
• If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then the missed dose should be skipped. And take the rest of the dose for that day at equal intervals. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
