Aspirin / Acetylsalicylic Acid is an antiplatelet drug. Aspirin / Acetylsalicylic Acid inhibits the action of an enzyme that binds platelets together to form a blood clot. When a clot forms in a blood vessel, blood flow is blocked, which is dangerous in cases of heart attack and leads to chest pain (angina) or stroke.
