Ethamsylate Dosage forms & Strength :-

• Ethamsylate 125 mg injection for intravenous administration only.
• Ethamsylate 250 mg tablet for oral use.

Ethamsylate Uses :-

Ethamsylate is also used to cure or control abnormal bleeding in conditions like periods and dysfunctional uterine bleeding (any bleeding from the vagina that varies from a woman's normal menstrual cycle).
Ethamsylate is prescribed for :
Menorrhagia is the medical term for menstruation (periods) with heavy or lengthen bleeding. Ethamsylate is use in controling heavy bleeding during periods.
Post operative hemorrhage :
Postoperative hemorrhage is immoderate internal bleeding after surgery. Ethamsylate is used to cure or treat immoderate internal bleeding after a surgical procedure.

• Porphyria :

• Fever :
Ethamsylate can cause an increase in body temperature. Consult your doctor immediately if you undergo a high fever. Your doctor can adjust the dose or switch you to another alternative based on your medical condition.
• Other medicines :
Ethamsylate can interact with other medicines and can cause critical side effects. So, it is advised that you must inform your doctor about all the medicines that you are using, before taking Ethamsylate.
• Use in menorrhagia :
Ethamsylate should be started only during menstruation to control excessive menstrual bleeding.
