Moxicip Infusion Composition :-
Moxicip Infusion consists of : Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride 400 mg.

Moxicip Infusion is an antibiotic. Moxicip Infusion is used for the treatment of bacterial infections that affect the skin, lungs, nose, stomach, and intestines. Moxicip Infusion is effective against a large number of bacteria.
Moxicip Infusion Dosage :-
Moxicip Infusion is a prescription medicine.
Moxicip Infusion dose or duration and treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your health/medical condition.
Moxicip Infusion is given as an intravenous (into the vein) infusion only.
It is better to take Moxicip Infusion at a fixed time every day. Complete the full course of antibiotics medicine.
Moxicip Infusion Side-effects :-

Most of these side effects are short term and get resolved with time. Although, if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get poor, take a doctor's consultation as soon as possible.
How Moxicip Infusion Works :-
Moxicip Infusion consists of : Moxifloxacin.
Moxifloxacin is a quinolone antibiotics. Moxifloxacin works by blocking the action of an enzyme which is required for bacterial multiplication.
Thus Moxicip Infusion prevents further growth of bacteria and kills the infection-causing bacteria.
Precautions & Warnings :-
• Do not take Moxicip Infusion if you are allergic to moxifloxacin.
• Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, heart problems, or liver problems before starting the treatment.
• Moxicip Infusion is not suggested for use in children below 18 years of age due to a lack of safety and efficacy data.
• Moxicip Infusion is not suggested if you have moderate to critical liver problems or high liver enzyme levels (>5 times the upper normal limit). Moxicip Infusion is broken down in your liver and impaired liver function can give rise to the accumulation of this medicine. So, it may worsen your condition and give rise to further liver damage.
• QT prolongation is a condition in which your heart muscles takes a more time to recharge between a heart beat. Moxicip Infusion can cause QT prolongation, so it is not suggested if you have heart failure (condition in which heart is not able to pump enough amount of blood), arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm), electrolyte disturbances (abnormal concentration of electrolyte levels in the body) especially low potassium levels, and/or bradycardia (slow heart beat) as it can worsen your condition.
• Moxicip Infusion is not suggested for use during pregnancy as it can cause harm to your foetus. Consult to your doctor if you are pregnant.
• Moxicip Infusion is not suggested during breastfeeding as it may pass into breastmilk and harm your baby. Consult to your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
• Antibiotic resistance take place when bacteria develop the capacity to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. So, to avoid such resistance, you should always complete the entire course of treatment even if you feel better.
• Moxicip Infusion can cause dizziness, confusion, or disorientation. So, do not performe any activities that require mental alertness such as driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.
• Moxicip Infusion can cause diarrhea as this medicine can also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Call your doctor if you experience severe watery or bloody diarrhea. Consult your doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.
• If you are taking an antacid for indigestion, it can lower the effect of Moxicip Infusion. So it is suggested to take this antibiotic 2 to 4 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after taking an antacid.
• Moxicip Infusion must be used with caution in elderly people as they are more susceptible to increased risk of side effects.
• Moxicip Infusion can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight or UV light. Hence, you should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight/UV light while taking Moxicip Infusion.
• Moxicip Infusion may increase the risk of tremors, agitation, restlessness, anxiety, confusion, hallucinations, sleeplessness, seizures, etc. So therapy with Moxicip Infusion should be administered cautiously if you have a history of these conditions. Tell your doctor immediately if you undergo any symptoms.
• Myasthenia gravis is a disorder that causes weakness of your skeletal muscles that are responsible for movement. Moxicip Infusion should be used with caution if you have myasthenia gravis as this can further cause muscle weakness and worsen your condition. Talk to your doctor before taking Moxicip Infusion.
• Peripheral neuropathy is a condition of nerve damage resulting in weakness, numbness, sensitivity to touch, pain mostly in the hands and feet. Moxicip Infusion should be used with caution as it can lead to peripheral neuropathy. Talk to your doctor if you have peripheral neuropathy or if you undergo any symptoms that continue or worsens.
• Tendon is the connective tissue that joins muscle to the bone. Moxicip Infusion can increase the risk of tendonitis (swelling of the tendon) and tendon rupture (a partial or complete tear of your tendon). Do not take Moxicip Infusion if you have a history of these conditions.
• If you have diabetes, Moxicip Infusion should be used with caution as it can alter your blood sugar levels. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while taking Moxicip Infusion.
• Moxicip Infusion interaction with other medicine like: Escitalopram, Ethinyl Estradiol, Quinidine, Aspirin, Antacids containing calcium/magnesium/aluminum, Warfarin, Metformin and Corticosteroids etc.
• Moxicip Infusion may cause low blood sugar and mental health related side effects.
