About Eclampsia :
Seizures that occur in a pregnant woman during pregnancy or soon after giving birth are called eclampsia.

Symptoms of Eclampsia:
Symptoms of eclampsia such as:
severe agitation,
seizure,
unconsciousness,

Symptoms of preeclampsia in women before a seizure such as:
nausea and vomiting,
headache,
swelling of hands and face,
Abdominal pain,
Having vision problems, such as blurred vision, loss of vision, double vision, or missing fields in the visual field.

When to contact the doctor?
You should contact your doctor if you have any symptoms of eclampsia or preeclampsia. And tell me about those symptoms such as:
terrible headache,
vision loss,
vaginal bleeding,
vomiting or nausea,
little or no movement in the baby,
severe pain in the upper right abdominal area,

Exams and tests for eclampsia
Your health care provider will do a physical exam to look for the cause of the seizures. The breathing rate and blood pressure are checked regularly.
Urine and blood tests are done to check:
protein in urine,
creatinine,
blood clotting factors
uric acid,
hematocrit,
hemoglobin level,
liver function,
platelet count,

Treatment of Eclampsia:
You are given anticonvulsant medicine to prevent seizures.
The drug is given to reduce high blood pressure. If your blood pressure remains high, it may require delivery, even before the baby is born.
Letting the pregnancy go on can be dangerous for you and the baby. Therefore, the treatment to prevent severe preeclampsia from turning into eclampsia is for women to give birth to a child.

Possible complications of eclampsia:
Women with preeclampsia or eclampsia are at higher risk for:
infant death,
placenta separation,
Premature labor that causes complications in the baby
having problems with blood clotting,
Shock,

Prevention of Eclampsia:
Eclampsia is prevented by treating preeclampsia. Seeking medical care during pregnancy is important to prevent complications. In which problems like preeclampsia can be detected and treated early.
