Glucreta 10 mg tablet is prescribed to control high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus for adult patients above 18 years of age.

Glucreta 10 mg tablet contains :

Dapagliflozin .................................. 10mg

Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitors, a class of oral hypoglycaemic agents.

Glucreta 10 mg Tablet Uses :-

Glucreta 10 mg tablet is an antihyperglycemic agents, used to control type 2 diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar levels) in adult patients above 18 years of age.

Glucreta 10 mg tablet can be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic drugs.
When Glucreta 10 mg tablet is used along with a healthy diet and exercise, it helps a lot in controlling blood sugar.
Glucreta 10 mg tablet is not indicated for use in patients with type 1 diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis.

Glucreta 10 mg Tablet Dosage :-

Glucreta 10 mg tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Glucreta 10 mg tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Glucreta 10 mg tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor. Glucreta 10 mg tablet should be taken immediately before or with a meal. Never self-medicate or change the dosage without a doctor's advice.
Do not take 2 or more doses at the same time. Always try to take Glucreta 10 mg tablet on regular schedule. Always take the tablet even if you feel well or your blood sugar level is under control. How Does Glucreta 10 mg tablet Work :-

Glucreta 10 mg tablet contains Dapagliflozin.

Dapagliflozin :

Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitors, a class of antihyperglycemic agents.
Dapagliflozin works by blocking a protein in the kidney Which is called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2). SGLT2 is a protein Which absorbs glucose from the urine into the blood flow as it is filtered into the blood kidney.
By blocking the action of SGLT2, dapagliflozin causes the removal of excess glucose through urine, which reduces the level of glucose in the blood.

Thus Glucreta 10 mg tablet works by controlling the level of sugar in the blood.

Glucreta 10 mg Tablet Sideeffects :-

Like all medicines, Glucreta 10 mg tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.

Some common side effects like -

Genital infection,

Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat),

Urinary tract infection,

Symptoms of hypoglycaemia : ( feeling shivering or restless, sweating, feeling hungry, feeling like your heart is pounding, dizziness ),

Difficulty urinating and many other side effects can occur.

Precautions :-

Before taking Glucreta 10 mg tablet, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems or an infection in the urinary tract or if you are taking (diuretic) pills.
Glucreta 10 mg tablet is not intended for the treatment of type 1 diabetes type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Pregnant or lactating women should also consult their doctor before taking Glucreta 10 mg tablet
