Zomet SR Tablet Uses :-
Zomet SR Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Zomet SR Tablet helps to control blood sugar level and prevents serious complications of diabetes.
By lowering or controlling blood sugar levels in this way, you can reduce your risk of serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, nerve problems, eye damage and loss of organs.
When Zomet SR Tablet is used along with a healthy diet and exercise, it helps a lot in controlling blood sugar.
Zomet SR Tablet Dosage :-
Zomet SR Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take Zomet SR Tablet as directed by your doctor. Use Zomet SR Tablet exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not take a higher or lower dose than directed by your doctor.
Zomet SR Tablet should be taken during or after a meal. Never self-medicate or change the dosage without a doctor's advice. Do not take 2 or more doses at the same time.
Always try to take Zomet SR Tablet on regular schedule. Always take the tablet even if you feel well or your blood sugar level is under control. Do not stop taking without your doctor's advice. Otherwise, your blood sugar level may rise again. Do not stop taking Zomet SR Tablet without asking your doctor. Because the treatment of diabetes is lifelong.

Metformin hydrochloride :
Metformin hydrochloride is an antidiabetic drugs belonging to a class of drugs called biguanides.
Metformin delays the absorption of glucose from the intestines, by reducing the production of glucose in the liver. And thus metformin works by increasing the sensitivity of the body to insulin.
Thus Zomet SR tablet works by controlling the level of sugar in the blood.

Like all medicines, Zomet SR Tablet can cause side effects, however not everyone may experience these side effects.

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia),

Vomiting,
Change in taste,

Pregnancy : Safe
Zomet SR Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown no or no adverse effects on the developing baby.
Breastfeeding : Safe
Zomet SR Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that metformin does not represent any risk to the baby.
Driving : Caution
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is too high or low during treatment with Zomet SR Tablet. Do not drive if you have these symptoms.
Kidney : Caution
Zomet SR Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zomet SR Tablet may be needed. Consult your doctor for this. Use of Zomet SR Tablet is generally not advised in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised while you are taking Zomet SR Tablet.
Liver : Caution
Zomet SR Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zomet SR Tablet may be needed. Consult your doctor for this. Low dose of Zomet SR Tablet is generally started in patients with mild liver disease and use of Zomet SR Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Alcohol : Unsafe
It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Zomet SR Tablet. Therefore, do not consume alcohol after taking Zomet SR Tablet.
