Food allergies is also known as food hypersensitivity

OVERVIEW
An annoying or dangerous immune system reaction after a specific food is eaten.
The cause of food allergies is not known. In some of the cases, allergies undergoes during childhood can resolve in adulthood.
Symptoms of a reaction are digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. Serious reactions can be life-threatening.
Antihistamine drugs treat lenient reactions. A serious reaction needs an injection of the drug epinephrine and emergency room care.

Pain in the area of abdomen
Gastrointestinal: diarrhoea, indigestion, nausea, passing excessive amounts of gas, vomiting, or flatulence 
Hives or rashes on the skin
Baby colic, cramping, flushing, itching, or tingling lips are also normal.

TREATMENTS
• Treatment depends on seriousness

• Self-care : Avoid certain foods.
• Airway management
Clearing a blocked airway of food, foreign objects, fluid and other obstructions. A top priority in emergency situations.
• Antihistamine
Decrease or stops an allergic reaction.
• Vasoconstrictor : Narrows blood vessels.
• Desensitization
Lowering allergic reactions by injecting generally increasing doses of the substance causing the reaction.
